MARCH 28, 2020 - Congratulations, you have made it through the first week of homeschooling!! We understand it is a challenging for you and certainly a confusing time for all of the children. However, seeing the kids this week at virtual classes has been amazing! It is so important to keep them connected to their friends and get them moving each day.

     As I said in the initial email, the launch of our virtual program did not come without bumps along the way. We are figuring it out as we go and do feel that we have learned a lot this week. We thank you for all your patience and support during our transition to online classes. 

     As the future is uncertain, we will be focusing on teaching the children new material, working on technique, and keeping their spirits high. Our goal is to keep them engaged. We have added more classes to the schedule for the next week, as we can see the need. We thought that a few daytime options may work for you and your dancer. These can break up the day, keeping the kids occupied and moving so you can get something done.

     Please note that your child is welcome to attend as many classes on their level as they wish. For example, there are 2 beginner soft shoe options (Thursday & Friday). You may tune into both of those classes if you wish. You will see more than one option for all levels, so please feel free to join us! The more the kids are dancing, the better! This will also give them the opportunity to experience lessons from different teachers and meet new friends. Links to classes can be found in our Virtual Dance Studio.

     As promised, each week the class will receive an activity. If your dancer chooses to complete it, they can share it with their class during their zoom session. This is just something to keep them busy and communicating with each other. Activities can be found on our Weekly Activities page.

     Many of the dancers have been asking about the recital, as we know it is so much fun for them. We will make sure to keep you posted as we do not know yet if it will proceed on May 31st.

     We invite you to email hagenkavanagh@gmail.com videos of your dancer(s) practicing their steps. We can provide individual feedback to your dancer so that they can improve. We can also share your videos and pictures on the HK Portal, Facebook, and Instagram pages (Note: please let us know in your email if you do not wish to have your child's pictures/videos posted).
